Re-Make Half Term Assessment`

AS Coursework:Video Skills&remaking

during this practical assessment,we choose about 40 seconds from the opening of The Pendant(psychological 2)from 0:45 to 1:26.
we filmed our sequence in the University of Nottingham in a sunny afternoon. so the whole film appears to be too bright to create a frightening atmosphere. next time, we are going to use the exposer to make it dimmer.
we saved the previous one in our mobil phone ,so that we can make sure that every shoot is as similar as possible to it.
in our clip, there wasn't any shoot that the camera was in the same position, so we needn't to keep checking  .
we managed lots of different shot type,angle and movement such as: mid-shot combined with high angle to show the character is frightened and we can see the look on her face clearly.

Shoot Excersice

In our film clip,we have done many different shots such as close up for the face of the characters,extreme close up for the shoes,long shots for the location and both mid shots and mid close up for two characters.  Those shots we have learnt from class,we try to use them all. However,there still got some problems. Such as we jump a lots,therefore when we do our editing we can found out that the film is not smooth enough. This is the biggest problem that we always make. As we making this mistake a lot, we should do our planing much more detail. And also think more what the shots will be when we are filming. Hope to solve this problem in our next clip.

 In this exercise,we have achieved continuity editing. It is much better compare the exercise we did last time. We do focus on people this time and the light balance was correct. Therefore It looks much better,also after editing the film goes smooth, doesn't jump with no sense.
However,we didn't frame it the shots very properly. We got a problem in shot number 2 and 3 in the location of corridor 2. It's because we didn't do master shot as we can only see the character 1 all the time and not both of them.So what we can improve was we should make sure we write properly in the planned sheet for using what shot type to remain ourself. Finally, work more to editing shots,make it more continuity.
